Agricultural Produce Market Committee, Ahilyanagar

Agricultural Produce Market Committee, Ahilyanagar was established on 01/10/1954. At the grain yard of Ahilyanagar, arrivals of grain produce are received from the districts of Beed, Sambhajinagar, and Pune. Also, dried chillies are received in large quantities from Andhra Pradesh. Ahilyanagar is a major market for green gram (moong), tamarind, and jaggery. At present, the main yard has a grain market, fruit and vegetable market, flower market, and fodder market in operation. In some villages of Nagar Taluka, floriculture is carried out on a large scale; therefore, the committee has allotted shops to the sons of some farmers in the vegetable section and started a flower market there, due to which farmers are getting good economic benefits from floriculture. At the main yard in Ahilyanagar, onions arrive in large quantities from the districts of Beed, Sambhajinagar, Nashik, and Pune; due to this, the said yard was becoming insufficient for business purposes.
